PEFSAD, Financial Assistance Exclusive to EÉSADs

Available to all Quebec residents aged 18 and over, the Financial Assistance Program for Domestic Help Services (PEFSAD) is an incentive to use the services of domestic help social economy businesses. This program allows you to only pay the difference between the business’s fees and the amount granted by the PEFSAD.

Financial assistance can be obtained in two ways:
  • basic financial assistance of $4 per hour of service provided;
  • additional financial assistance between $1.28 and $10.24 per hour of service provided.
The financial assistance granted by the PEFSAD is calculated based on the following:
  • age;
  • family status;
  • family income;
  • the health condition of the person in question.
The following services are covered:
  • light housekeeping work;
  • heavy housekeeping work;
  • cleaning clothes;
  • preparing meals (excluding meals that are part of a medically restricted diet);
  • grocery shopping and running other errands.
